As part of the 50+ Festival in Aberdeen, Organica J will be doing an aromatherapy talk and workshop on Wednesday 2nd September at Marischal College.
This is a great festival with lots going on for the 50+ folks to take part in, learn stuff at, dance, or just simply sit back and enjoy.
The 50+ Festival Aberdeen is organised by Aberdeen City Council with lots of local sponsors.
This is the 13th year of the 50+ Festival and it runs from 1-11 September 2015.
There are activities in various venues across the city including, Beach Ballroom, ACT Aberdeen, Blue Lamp, Music Hall and the heated Giant Marquee at the iconic Marischal College Quadrangle.

Welcome to another week of Organica J’s Top Ten Uses! This week will be focusing on 10 helpful uses for Tea Tree essential oil (also known as melaleuca alternifolia).
Although we don’t use tea tree as an ingredient in any of our organic skincare products, it has so many uses in aromatherapy and is definitely worth having in your essential oil collection.

Here’s our Top Uses:
1. helpful for coughs, colds or flu
2. good for cold sores, warts & verrucae
3. can help with thrush & cystitis
4. can help clear the air from viruses when diffused.
5. useful for skin with acne
6. may help with athlete’s foot
7. can ease insect bites
9. can act as an immunostimulant
10. may be useful against dandruff
Unlike most other essential oils, tea tree can be used in 1 or 2 DROPS neat on its own, but other oils need to be diluted in carrier oils before use on the skin/in the bath.

We recently stopped in by one of our retailers Whitmuir the Organic Place. Whitmuir is located about 16 miles south of Edinburgh, in a peaceful area called Lamancha. The farm rears it’s own beef, lamb, pork, and turkey as well as growing veg and keeping hens for eggs. All of their produce can be bought in the shop, served in the restaurant, and those in the area can get home deliveries.
